Shadow Walker
It's never easy to say goodbye,
be it in a relationship or a soul in the shadow of the sky.
You think back to when days were fun,
When the length of the day didn't matter because your heart was filled with sun.
You ask yourself was there something else you could have said.
To change the situation and bring them back from dread.
But No, it doesn't matter what way it went.
You saw all you were supposed to see and all of the time allowed was spent.
It's picking up and moving on that seems the hardest to do.
When you loved someone as much as they loved you.

Sad to say but strange to say, something made write this poem last night and after I wrote it I sent it to my mom. She called me and told me our family dog had just passed away from heart failure. I cried for hours last night. Then this mornng I was awaken by my mom again telling me
that my stepfathers brother anniversary was today and his wife was sad because he passed away at the beginning of this year. He made me write the poem. My mom sent the poem to her and she cried, and called me and said thank you. He made me title it as Shadow Walker to tell his wife he will be always in her shadow walking along her side. She caught the message. I was surprised and pleased that my poem made her feel better. God is Good.
