Keys

My mind stays dazed

as my fingers graze

the key that plays

each note.

Each sharp and flat,

accidental, or nat,

fits exactly where

it goes.

My hands, they float

like the sea makes a boat

as they play the notes

that cause pain.

They pain me so greatly

the tunes might make me

cry as they take me

away.

A piano

A beautiful thing

An instrument

meant to be made to sing

A life I love,

led by the tones

of a piano

It's my heart and my soul

Music swirls swiftly

as I strike each key nimbly

and I complement quickly

with voice.

The sweet saprano

with ringing vibrato

Then comes the alto

with choice

harmonies.

I would not say I love

but would say I am in

The piano brings me up

The piano makes me sing

Keys are made

to be played

So why not stay?

I shall stay and play.

The Piano

Life is like a piano,

The white keys are the good things,

And the black keys are the bad things.

But even the Black Keys make music too.

Years of Piano

Age 4 was the start,

of my piano career.

My parents decided,

They thought it was clear,

That playing the piano,

Would be ever so dear.

Age 7 was the time,

Where I struggled,

To appreciate,

The skills that I earned.

I wished for more freedom,

Not realizing all I learned.

Age 10 was when,

I noticed how fast,

I was improving, for,

Practice had paid off at last.

My sound became,

Wonderful and greatly surpassed.

Age 13 was the year,

That is started to slow,

I was no longer interested,

There was no more flow.

For me the piano,

Had lost its glow.

Presently the piano,

Has come back to life.

But sadly the practice,

Still gives me strife.

I love to play the piano,

Its sound so strong,

Alas I cannot,

Find a good song.

No longer do I know,

What I want to play,

Though I hope to find,

Interest again, someday.

I moved on to another instrument,

The dainty flute,

For now I'd say,

The piano's on mute.

Don't get me wrong,

The piano is beautiful,

I love it alot,

It is just not as fruitful.

I want to learn,

So much more,

I want to be given,

What the piano has in store.

For now all I know,

Is that I still play piano,

And I will for forever,

For it is my fellow.

Muse

Black and white

don't have to fight

for your attention on the keys

a music score

or perhaps more

improv

creates the sound to please

with sharps and flats

and rests and notes

your composition soars

3/4 time

now make it rhyme

add words and you've got more!

A song to sing

a tale to bring

to life in black and white

words on the page

notes to engage

that please the ear and eye

You've just composed

some lovely prose

your muse has come alive!
