Love story? uhhhhhhhhhh....

I'm no good at this but here we go...

Jack walked into his room and smiled when he saw Jen.

"You missy, are grounded." He said.

"I know but I got soooo bored." She said

"And what would your parents think about you being here?"

"That's why no one is going to tell them I stopped by."

Jack walked up to her and kissed her on the lips. She smiled.

"Almost worth committing a misdemeanor," Jen said.

"Actually, breaking and entering is a felony." Jack responded.

"Hey..." Jen said "I didn't break anything, so it's just entering."

"Oh really?" Jack asked.

"Mhm," She said "and I'll only go to jail if you press charges."

"Or if my parents press charges," Jack responded.

"You would talk them out of it for me, right."

"Sure,"

He kissed her again.

"Now is that worth commuting a felony?" Jack asked.

"Couldn't tell," Jen responded "We have to retry."

They kissed each other again.

"Okay, totally worth it!" Jen said

Jack laughed and kissed her one more time.

"Ok I got to go," Jen said "My parents are gonna get suspicious when they don't hear me yell 'shut up' at my brother."

"Ok, see you at school babe!" Jack said.

"You too," Jen said, she then exited through the window and went home.

After Dark

RUN!

That's what I'm good at, running, I'm decent at fighting, but I'm bad at hiding. Claustrophobia will do that for ya.

Bullets were zipping by my ear.

They have fricken GUNS! I thought. My legs were moving like the roadrunner, BEEP BEEP, You know the one.

I came to a T in the road, only three directions, left, right, and backward, toward the crazy dude with guns? No thanks.

I turned left and ran.

CRAP! Dead end, what now? I forgot to mention before, another thing I'm good at. Parcour.

Not like what you play in the waiting area on Hypixel though, like those YouTube videos where people are hopping from building to building.

I jumped up and grabbed a storage container and used it to pull myself up.

A bullet flew by me. Thank God they were a little drunk, and bad shots too.

I started hopping across the canisters. I'd be safe when I left the docs. More running, bullets whizzing past. Then a bullet landed by my foot. Hot shrapnel hit my leg and I fell over.

The shrapnel was burning my skin. I got up and tried to run. I wasn't as fast as I was but I could still get away. The men were yelling, the guns were popping, and I was running, on the other side of town from the police department, so my only hope was a semi-nice stranger with a gun or a car since those crazies had blown up my car. Okay, maybe I should explain how I got into this situation...

Chapter two

So basically how I got here (I promised an explanation earlier...) Is I just drove in. You'd think that Gangsters (or whatever these guys are) Would protect a place like this better. Anyway, I just drove in... to cry off the fact that I just got stood up by the most beautiful girl at my school, you know what... never mind I never said that. I drove in because real men hang out at the docks... ignore I said that too

Anyway... back to me getting shot at. So I was still just running the shrapnel still was burning in my leg, and then well... I ran out of crates (basically I was using crates to run across the dockyard. You know, those crates that are on those really big ships.

Anyway back on track (guess my ADHD affects my writing side too huh) and there was no way I could jump off these crates and be fine, man gangsters don't like having any intruders.

Good thing I have real skills in stuff like this because I was in cross country. I grabbed the crates and quickly lowered my body and let go. The fall didn't even hurt. I kept running, now I was only a few yards from the exit but these guys did not like me, but come on... I am sixteen! Is this really needed! I mean...I'm no snitch! Lets just chill! But no three guys cut me off. I had nowhere to run. My heart quickened and my adrenalin rushed like Jason was behind it, him, them, her it's 2022 my adrenalin can be what it, him, they, her wants to be. Anyway, this guy walked up to me, he seemed to be an authority figure among these guys.

"We caught the kid." one guy said.

"Kill him... quietly," The boss guy said

That's not good...

One guy took out a silenced pistol and pulled the trigger.

Chapter three

Then time stopped. Not like 'Oh my gosh I am dead!' type frozen, like I was not frozen but everything else was, of course I had to open my eyes to figure that out. Yes, I closed my eyes and cover my face when that one guy drew that gun, anyway I opened my eyes and the bullet stopped moving! Like, not even slow motion, time had completely stopped! I stood there for like forty seconds just processing. When I was done processing this like a blubbering idiot, I ran... no more to it, nothing to go in detail about. To be fair, I had no idea how long I had until whatever this was wore off.

I actually didn't know if it would ever wear off. But it did, in a secluded alley. I know it did because a cat was leaping from a dumpster and it went flying across my view. That scared the absolute heck out of me! To be fair, I did scare the cat too! It hissed and growled at me for a second then ran away. I continued my way home but my mind was somewhere else. What is the H-E-double Hawkey sticks was that!

I finally got home at ten o'clock I desperately needed a shower, and new clothes considering my pants had been burnt up by shrapnel from bullets, no biggie, just another Tuesday. Seriously I could tell the girls at school that! My mom and dad didn't even notice I had come in. Yep... they were like that. Never really looked out for me and my little sister, unless it was money-related. Dad was more than happy to show off all his cash. So I don't need to work, I do because I am not going to live off of my parents you know?

I ran upstairs and took a shower the warm water would have felt nice if I was focused enough to feel it. I got out of the shower and checked on my little sister Beth.

Luckily she was fast asleep so I could lock my door and research what had happened to me.

Nothing showed up on my computer so I just gave up and laid down on my bed. I sighed and closed my eyes thinking about what had happened that night my mind was spinning like a top, what happened to me I rolled over, why me?

Space

I needed space

To hear myself

The achings of my heart

The knowings of my mind

I was too busy

And it was too noisy

And I swirled

And twirled

In my dress of confusion

Thinking I was dancing

When I was only

Going in circles

And now I have had space

Coupled

With the time to navigate it

Space to listen

And write

Then right

What I hear

I admit

The space

Almost took me

I floundered

A whale out of water

(Surely

I am too big to be a fish)

But I followed

A ray of sunlight

Breaking through

My choking mind

(You)

And now

I can see a way

Out of the darkness

Of my inner space

Thank you.

Update

Hey guys! So, I don't think anyone noticed I was gone from late April to like now, but I was. I think I occasionally popped in like 3 times but briefly. But I am back (for now).

So I just started my 1st year of college. This first week has been rough... I got rained on FOUR times in a row!

Now, some of you are wondering "what's up with the books?" Well, my Word subscription met it's death and so I couldn't use Word. I had no internet access for the most part, so I couldn't download a new program or use Google Docs. So I didn't get to do much writing except some brief writing on paper.

That being said, I can now start writing. Keep an eye out on my sm and here, as I'll begin posting pictures, playlists, quotes, and updates.

If you are waiting for a signed copy of A Collection of Short Stories, I am going to get it to you guys ASAP. I am making it my next major priority, however, I is broke af right now.

How has everyone else been though? I've missed you guys! Let me know if you want me to do new character Q&A's too.

What can you do with bubblewrap

Things to do with bubblewrap

1. Pop specific bubbles out of a line , to make binary code message.

2. If the bubbles are big, inject them with hydroponic gel , and make a verticle garden.

3. Babyproof everything!! alternatively, you can make a rage room when the blood runs high...

4. Make a windbreaker or a rain poncho.

5. Use strips and individual bubbles, to teach kids about numbers, and distance.

6.  Cover the bubblewrap in non-soluble chili oil. teach marine animals to avoid eating plastics.

7. Heat sheild for the reentry menuvers.

8. Fake decoration seaweed for aquariums.

9 . Create a golem.

10. Prosthetic suction cup implants for octopus with third degree burns.

11. Sell them on ebay to some pervert, who gets off of prosers.

12. Cut in shapes of clothes. insert magnets,.use as clothing for plush toys.

13. Emotionally extort someone into taking up all your bubblewrap. make sure they recycle properly. no trash compactors allowed!!

14. Protect the fragile ecosystem.

15. By laying down a thick layer of unpopped material, create the illusion at a distance that a lake is still covered by ice.

16. Hoard bubblewrap. one day , after it’s discontinued, it will be very valuable.

17. Eat it- it can be a good , low-calorie alternative.

18. Print all your posts on prose.com, bind it, and wrap it in bubblewrap layers of inceeasing bubble size.

19. Cover exposed surfaces of cars, boats, and airplanes to significantly increase drag, and reduce speed, and fuel efficiency. similarly, putting up a slip and slide that is intentionally slower, or on a steeper incline, can be acheived with replacing the standard material with bubblewrap.

20. For those who are oparating a large menagerie / private zoo in cold climates- large, mostly hairless mammals can be covered with bubblewrap to increase thermal insulation, and create the illusion that the animals are ice age megafauna. this also has the benefit of reducing heating expense in the winter months.

21. Create accurate 1:1 models of national monuments out of carefully folded bubblewrap. in times of emergency or natural desaster these temporary approximations can be used to fool the invaders of which targets they need to demolish. as the scale models are easily transportable, they can also be used on the public, to create the illusion that everything is ok.

22. Tightly roll large sheets , with the bubbles facing inward. Once you have a tube of the desired length and girth, tightly wrap it in seran wrap or scotch tape, to create cheap , home made pool noodles that can then be reused in all sorts of home improvement projects..

23. wrap them around carefully carved, long pieces of granite. until they have a thick, round shape. roll them slowly, until you get to the canal, then float them all the way up the Nile, until you reach the pyramid you are constructing. roll again, and then carefull pop the bubbles in select places, until the obelisk is erect.

24. sell it to the unsuspecting natives in exchange for land, or gold.

Extremists!

I think that the overwhelmingly most useful purpose of bubblewrap is for completely wrapping up all the extreme climate change activists and particularly those who make the absurd proposal that the world would be a better place if there were no humans on it! Then MAYBE we could get some peace and quiet so we could enjoy this beautiful amazing incredible unique world and make it a better place for our families, friends and acquaintances without the threats, taxes and negative scare-mongering of the obsessed extremists.

Maybe then we could torture them even more by popping the bubblewrap day and night until they recanted and realised that making the world a better place does not involve intense negativity pessimism and fear. Quite the opposite! Let's make life wonderful glorious and happy and have some positive constructive and worthwhile aims instead!

Spotlight You Favorite Writer
As some of you may know, once a month I sort of host Roundtable Wednesday, where one writer is spotlighted the first Wednesday of each month. Now, this is your chance to spotlight your favorite "Proser". In 150 words or less, tell us why this person is your favorite and why we should read what they do. Now, because there has been some issues with winners with the most likes not appearing as the winner, I make this challenge a Monarchy, but what I will do is actually choose the winner with the most likes. But you must make certain to tag me in order to be the potential winner. I will not choose a winner who does not tag me. Tag me in the comment box, not on the post as @Danceinsilence.

And the Winner Is...

Throughout my Prose career, it has shifted multiple times. SadieBug frequently posted in my monthly challenges, and I consider her to be a very skilled writer. For some time, she was my favorite. But, eventually, four new writers entered my radar. Those four were nightscribbler, CatLady1, Chacko_Stephen, and Never_More. Each of these writers wrote well. CatLady has her hilarious posts, and her serious ones. Both of which are amazing. Chacko keeps you on the edge of your seat, while incorporating the perfect amount of comedy into it. And Never_more and nightscribbler are both outstanding authors; Never_more writes beautiful poetry and captivating stories, while nightscribbler writes stories that you just can't help but fall in love with. And, with my last twenty-five words, I must say my current favorite author is GLD. The poetry, the stories--everything GLD writes is amazing, beautiful... I always look forward to reading GLD's work.

River’s End

Picking a favorite proser is so hard, because I love everything you guys do. Danceinsilence's 3 Evils series is amazing. TaiSensei's Tainted Sky is amazing as well. Then there's Mnezz, who always is so kind and supportive to everyone as well as writing some incredible pieces. There are so many ways to excel in Prose, and everyone here finds their niche and owns it.

BUT... of course I wouldn't be entering this challenge if I didn't have an answer. So, after much deliberation, my favorite Proser must be...

Taki!

Taki is the author of River's End. The world building in this series is incredible! The characters are so full of depth, relatable, and the plot is an emotional rollercoaster! And the cliffhangers!!! By God, the cliffhangers! There were twists... there were turns... there were mysteries, and betrayals... and there were aliens!

What more can you ask for?

CALL ME PENELOPE

Call me Penelope

each morning

they

tear about my house

(wherever I build)

running

to the lake, to the yard, out the gate, after balls, after ice cream, playing tag

not flies

they fly through

my dew spangled creation

never stopping to admire the diamonds I’ve caught

they stop instead

me from eating

They run,

they tear,

shredding my web

warping my weft

leaving me

of breakfast bereft

Hungry but resolute,

I

begin again
