Are you thinking about when you saw me last?

You apologized, but I saw right through,

By this time, I know all the versions of you.

Take it off, so I can see your face,

Will you cry, when I call you a disgrace?

You’ll deny, nodding all the while,

Keeping on your plastered smile.

Your plays won’t work, not this time,

Because now the field is finally mine,

So here it is—I’ll tell you what I’ll do,

I’ll put on a mask, just like you.

I've masked my feelings

And I've put a wall around my heart.

I'm tired of letting people in

And then having them turn around

And leave.

They said they could help

And they said they would stay for eternity,

But when they saw the state I was in,

They backed out of their promises.

And then they wonder why I shut them out,

And they bang on the door "Let me in!"

But they'll never understand

What's really going on in here.

How can I explain what's happening,

When I don't even know?

Help me please, before I sink to the bottom,

Before I run out of hope,
