I’m BrOKen

I put a smile on my face everyday

But in reality it is just a mask.

I hide the truth behind it,

None can see the pain.

I can’t let them see,

So I say I’m okay,

but the truth is,

I’m broken.

Masks.

The sound of the battle horns are carried with the rushing wind(s)~~~

Warriors get ready & begin stamping their feet~~

The ground shakes like an earthquake~

Then all is calm, the masks are placed over their faces

The other army stare in amazement, and wonder

What are the masks for? This isn’t some party, or contest for best mask design.

The warriors on the other side can’t help it, they try to hold in their laughter

But seeing the masks of different expressions and silly designs makes them roar with laughter...

A hush falls over the masked warriors, they raise their weapons & give out their battle cry: ALALA!!

The masks now all seem somewhat different

The eyes of the warriors seem to look more beast like, hungry for Victory!

Screams are heard from the losing side, dust rises into the air, the ground soil is now a shade of a mix of dark brown...and red.

The warriors raise their weapons and scream out loud. For they’ve won another battle.

a mask or two

Have you noticed how my mask sparkles in the sun?

Have you noticed the colorful feathers that surround its top?

Have you not admired my mask a million times before?

Was it not a sight that you enjoyed so much?

You marveled at the words that fell out,

of the perfectly shaped lips

and you fell for the ambers of my eyes,

You caressed this face with gentle fingers

and sharp thoughts,

but you never really saw,

that is wasn’t me that you touched

it wasn’t me that you admired,

I was there underneath it all

but you never took the time

to play with the illusion,

you never even tried

to take off the mask

that was only plastic,

that was never

and will never be

me
