Ambition, Overnight

I don't care, goodnight.

Well, I know you don't,

But I do.

And it's okay, because

That only

Lights my fucking fire

Even more.

I fail, sure, and have time and

Time again, and

You can shake your head and make

As many discouraging comments

As you'd like but

It won't make a single

Difference,

I know I am better than the sum

Of my mistakes,

More than you think

I'll ever be, and you know,

Something I hear time and time again is that

I should surround

Myself with people who

Support me in what I do,

However I can say now

That motivation

Comes easier to me if I'm facing

Some kind of

Opposition,

Obstacles, one after another

Line my path and

I'll destroy those walls and

Launch myself over

Those hurdles, and do

You know

Why?

I didn't think so,

You've never wanted

Something as badly as I do

Now, let alone have you ever put

In the work,

But I'll tell you now that it is so hard but

It will be worth it,

I've promised myself,

And by all that is well and good I will keep it

Because I have more respect for myself

Than that, probably more than you'll ever have for

Yourself.

So, in response to your words I say

Sweet dreams to you,

And while you're sleeping,

I'll be busy making mine

A reality.
