You were braver than I ever thought, and I am comforted knowing those last moments you were in your father's embrace. I cannot imagine the fear, the regret, the pain. Watching your world crumble in fire and ashes. It was the reading come to life. I guess the gypsy was right. I am profoundly sad without you and keep your memory alive. You were my everything. You walked on sunshine and laughed with wholehearted glee. You juggled my heart when you tossed those flaming batons high in the air, cycling your unicycle in the drive. Road trips, whispered promises never to be fulfilled, but I hold you close. You are always near, so watch over me, protect me and wait for me.
