thinking of the 5th dimension
4th dimension ride
speeding down westward
toward the setting sun
flashing blur of haze
match stick telephone poles
gnarled and crooked toward the sky
wires overhead
all crossing the road
above and beyond
of metal pyramid,
towers
of galvanized iron steel
grey 'n dirt dust
covered i've seen
holding one million volts overhead
slaves of humanity these,
spewing electrical current
running hither
thither 'n omni
ubiquitous,
pervading
invading
keeping mankind
blind,
media
gps
phones
wiFi
AI voices
in speeding cars
inside glass and steel cages
immune from facial contact
black ribbons of road
pave the way
keeping mankind on track
hazy lazy sanguine sky above
wispy white thread of clouds
like streams of liquid poison
heading west on the asphalt
corridor
we're kept in place
held in grip
captive to IA machines
dust 'n dirt
dirt 'n dust
covers all the land
crooked matchsticks poles
horribly roughly rustic
contrast to smooth technology,
never ending
gnarled,
protruding skyward
like picket fences
more ahead
speeding past me
surrounded by weeds and debris
some near markers of graves
sun bleached candles
oxidized plastic
homage to the fallen
death by road kill
but doesn't stop the road rage
the blind passing on the double yellow
unending stream of cars
billions,
maybe a trillion of 'em
across the globe
madness and mayhem
spinning wheels of synthetic rubber
trillions of turnings
multiplied by more to infinity
wheels in engines too,
just like
spinning thoughts of human minds
each a world of its own
no one alike
each unique
utterly unique
the 4th dimension of their own
that is the realness of the physical world
plus time,
hurling toward eternity unawares
yet unawares of our 5th dimension
the spirit of forever
heading towards the unobservable
the physically untouchable
the utterly physically,
unfathomable dimension of space
until a collision
impact
a final destiny
wherein we each meet
the end of the road
face to face
with the creator of the universe
