christmas spirit: capitalist brainwashing or a memento of ancient times?
to me, christmas - and the act of gift giving, wrapping, and placing a child's behavior into the hands of a mysterious, far off man who watches them 24/7 to determine whether this behavior deserves a good or bad reward - is rather deceptive and not all true to the 'spirit of christmas'. it actually has me rather concerned that we have normalized being monitored constantly, and that we overlook the egregious human rights abuses of major corporations in the 'spirit of christmas'. please, write to me what the spirit of christmas is to you. this can be an essay, a poem, a joke, a memoir - any input will be a well-received gift :D

Capitalist brainwashing.

My dad, sister and I were talking in the car about Christmas tree's. How they are over priced just for them to die in three day's.
