Flirting With Time

Time is a dangerous thing.

One not to be wasted.

Live until the Sirens sing

And it's love you've tasted.

Rivers run in canyons deep.

Greying hair thins and falls.

Listen to the Sirens weep.

And heed their mournful calls.

Friends and loved ones disappear.

Like petals of a rose.

And we should not stop and sneer.

Or jab the one who knows.

Time can be an awesome part.

Of a life that's well-lived.

Or it is a broken heart.

To those who have outlived.

The one who flirts with time.
