To Lie

I never wanted to lie, I dont wish to hurt.

It is so easy to be happy, too simple to avert.

I pretend to be content, there is so much more.

I am only existing, my proper chore.

I lurk in my lone mind, linger in her inner thoughts.

My presence is churning, forever in knots.

I lie for my own pleasure, I am not concerned about you.

You are soon behind me, we both know it is true.

I rest in my lies, I know they belong.

For my truth is my sorrow, my honesty is my song.
