Colors Of The Rainbow(And So On)
Write a poem using any nine colors. If you need an example I have written a poem, which is actually the reason I started this challenge so you can check it out if you would like. But you can use the colors in any way as long as there is nine of them. It can even be monochromatic, you can use the same color but different shades. Get creative!
Midnight
The cat
burglar creeps into the
the old neighborhood
behind the house front
stiffles a charcoal
cough and grazes
ebony claws against
silhouetted shrubbery
...to stare down Mars with
onyx eyes and raven
hair and await with a
yawn for lights to go
out from lamp to obsidian
and for some ink to seep
in beneath every living
form dimly seen within
...and he’ll swallow the
invisible rat on his way
down the pitch dark
of the hall and children
will shudder till Dawn
declares him gone and so on
....except for one shadow
still slinking along and
pocketing the rainbow
