The sheets
normally soft beneath her skin
pilled and worn from,
bouncing on her bed
pretending she could fly
she could no longer feel.
The screaming
viscous words hurled throughout the
home that once held
warmth and comfort
she could no longer hear.
The world
full of hope, and of anguish
once hers to explore
is now too far
gone beyond her reach.
