Is She Pretty??

Who is it that uses your voice

To scream obscenities at me?

What’s her name?

The one who spits fire from your mouth?

Is she pretty?

Who glares at me with hatred,

Behind your eyes so glazed?

Who turns your heart away from me?

What’s her name?

Is she pretty?

Do you love her?

Who stabs my back when it is turned,

And smiles when I cry?

Who steals my love away from me?

What’s her name?

Is she pretty?

Does she love you?

Who laughs at my sincerity,

And mocks me with a lie?

Who takes your hand and slams the door,

And leaves me here to die?

What’s her name?

Is she pretty?

She doesn’t love you….

She only loves to dig my grave.

She isn’t pretty….

Look closer…

See the hideous secret.

Her defects hide beneath her beauty-skull.

See her bloody twisted lips...

Marred by the venom that spews

from the depths of her shriveled soul.

See her snout...

Dripping with the scent of desire,

The scent of the game that she stalks.

See her knarled hands...

Scabby,

and soiled…

by the touch of what’s rightfully mine.

See the sockets where her eyes once were...

She has gouged them out,

So she won’t see right from wrong.

No…she isn’t pretty…

She is deep-down-in-the-ground ugly…

Ugly, like the vengeance that I seek.

Judas in Redux

You showed up smelling like

grasslands and deep pine.

You moved beneath my hands

like beach sand and good times.

You told me I was grand

like no plans and fast rhymes.

I felt like I was clever

like no hands the first try.

We were to one another like

corkscrews and bread ties.

It felt like we were close

like sunset and sunrise.

And you'd never leave me

Ever,

like strong bonds

and blood ties.

But you walked across my land

like white man, on first sight.

Gathering what you can,

like, “who cares, now it's mine!”

And that's how it happened.

I wish that it hadn't.

But we're just organic

emotional, tragic.

Not even original,

hardly surprising .

If this was a movie

I'd be rolling my eyes like,

--ettu Brute?

Sumimasen, namaste!

And this is the cincher:

It ends like a scripture,

not painted, no picture

of how much I miss her.

When? Then.

When he tells you he'll be there for you

Show the world to you

And you believe every word

Hang on to them all

Then he leaves you; breaks his promise

Crushes the world, your universe

Tears your trust

You'll hang on a noose of false love
