Handcuffed
Murky cloud walls,
an invisible prison,
surging indignity
yesterday’s hostage.
Wrinkled bed,
unjust restraints,
waving goodbye
handcuffed soul.
Past drips down
my rusty bones
cutting my throat
with precision.
Desolate halls,
can’t see outside,
can’t find my way.
Soon I won’t be
remembered at all,
teased by myths
just out of reach.
