Something profound
Quote/Write a line, something that might be found in a book or story, that is moving or profound. Something that makes you laugh out loud for hours, or gives you chills.

Quality over quantity. Mutiny at dawn. Never back down. Take this as you will, of course.

We Ride at Dawn

Any Poetry/Prose
Hi, everyone! I don’t really have the time to write a full book, so I write poems. I really love reading poetry as well, and I’d love to see what you have to say. Winner will be decided by the most likes, and I will give them a shout-out in my writing.

A Girl Lying Awake at Night

A girl lying awake at night,

Surrounded by deafening silence.

Insomnia sweeping her up and

away from sleep each night.

Then, the creaking of a floorboard

as she tiptoes from her room.

The soft padding of petite feet

across the living room carpet.

The clink of a glass and the soft trickle of water.

And then, the soft whoosh of the patio door,

dew-covered grass tickling barefoot feet,

as the deafening silence makes way

to a midnight lullaby.

The sweet symphony of crickets chirping,

harmonizing with the gentle songs of the owls

and the rich bass of croaking toads.

And there, in the peace of the night,

the voice of a young girl joins in,

swept away under the silvery light of the moon.

As the stars listen to the girl

who has learned mother nature's melodies by heart.
