Tiger
The separation of this Tasmanian Tiger saved its life.
As long staring it cast it's eyes to the smoke dotted valley below, from so many settlers huts.
The believers thought him a killer this last of his kind marsupial wolf, searching for signs of his passing, like caliginous birds of prey.
In a forgotten time and place weidersehen was the cry to see again
Though never no more the likes of his kind again.
Old Souls
The feeling of being a million years old enveloped me as I rode the same road the same car again
And this was not a new road it was a million years old and I had traveled it before
A million times before I loved you met you in a million bus stops
I had seen before
You a million times
In a million seconds
Minutes
Hours
A million lives
That you lived a million times before.

Sleeps Inside
The heart sleeps inside encased by bone and skin
The heart sleeps inside the chambers vast like oceans
The heart sleeps inside the house of the soul
The heart sleeps inside within your own time
The heart sleeps inside as nothing hurts us not here
The heart sleeps inside
Sleeps inside
Sleeps inside.
Ground
Where only the grass grew
Where only shadows laid
Sunlight strung amongst it
On this ground
Where animal and bird
Wore tracks
Where only the grass grew
On forgotten ground
Cattle grazed
By gum tree in wind
Memories past
Animal and bird
Animal and bird
Where only the grass grew
Warm air hung in still day
New paths to be trod
Creek ran by windmill
On this ground
On this ground
Ground
The Currawong
The Yarra Yarra tribe were not long for this land
As the Currawong flew and still flies
Forgotten language
Forgotten ways
Tribal ways
As the Currawong flew
Scars on the chest
Initiated man
As the Currawong flew and still flies
1770 was the tell and Captain Cook
Forgotten language
Forgotten ways
As the Currawong flew
