The sun has entered my body. Its golden light fills my veins and bursts from my pores. I've jumped from the tallest skyscraper, just to see if I can fly. I land lightly on my feet and hear the voices from miles away. They're coming.

The Angelus are sure upset for an organization that gave me my power in the first place. Taken against my will and experimented on, they tell me I am a descendant of Brigid, a Celtic goddess.

I'm ready to run and face them when I hear the soft cries. The child sobs in pain next to the bicycle. I soothe the top of their head, as I numb their pain and put their bones back into place. Having the ability to conjure lollipops from thin air is a new skill, but one I could get used to.

This gives me a thought.

I watch the child and mother for a minute before I slip into the alley. I close my eyes and try to picture my captors, but how do you picture the invisible? I imagine their voices, their fingertips, their breath. Light bursts into the darkness of my eyelids and I feel myself vanishing.

When I open my eyes, I'm in a field. I know that I am not alone and that I am ready for what will come.
