I’m not Lonely...Just Alone by Choice
Welcome to my world, a world of aloneness,
There are many reason for being alone—
Maybe you don’t like being around people
Or you’re sick with a deadly contagious disease.
Perhaps you want to live away, a hermit, so you
Can view life through undistorted lenses.
Being alone is often something that you choose,
Being lonely is not, because if it were, no one would be
And being alone is often almost always temporary
But being lonely can seem to drag on, day after day,
I said I choose to be alone, but I say this for a reason
Because I don’t want to believe the truth—
The truth being that I am lonely, and not by choice.
Of course, I would probably choose to be alone, even if
I weren’t lonely, because choosing to be alone is better
Than having your so-called friends choose lonely for you.

This is an excerpt from narrative poem fiction book I'm working on. So be sure to let me know what you think! Thank you in advance!
“It gives you the ingredients, it’s up to you to make the recipe.”
(A quote from me about when something makes your mind come up with its own fears. I did research and so far I've found that this isn't a qoute by anyone else so I'm claiming it)
Without the ugly things,
There'd be no beautiful things.
For ugly things are the standard
For beautiful things.
Dust in the wind by Kansas
"I close my eyes only for a moment, and that moment's gone.
All my dreams pass before my eyes, a curiosity.
Dust in the wind, all they are is dust in the wind.
Same old song, just a drop of water in an endless sea.
All we do crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see.
Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind.
Now, don't hang on, nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky.
It slips away, and all your money won't another minute buy.
Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind (all we are is dust in the wind)
Dust in the wind (everything is dust in the wind), everything is dust in the wind (the wind). "
The song brings tears to my eyes whenever I listen to it. Absolutely beautiful and absolutely true. When I die, I want this song to play at my funeral :) It defines my beliefs comepletely.
I startled a ghost sleeping inside my closet and apologized vehemently hoping I hadn’t pulled her from the best dream of her death.
Tear open your rib cage,
suck out your feelings,
expose your naked self.
Break all rules,
let your thoughts soar
Scrawl graffiti of life.
Lie in bed and listen
to hammered ideas.
struggling or flailing.
of your restraints,
bathe in frozen fire.
Allow the rumble
of poetry to mesh
with your shadows.

Flecks of Sawdust
I keep forgetting to forget about you
your love tore my whole heart out
leaving it ground into flecks of sawdust
leavings strewn on the ground of my life.
I’m bleeding inside learning to survive
without your love and passion warming me
encircling me with what once was.
I tried to replace you but the new man
in my life looks like a clone of you
walks like you, talks like you, reminds me of you
raising the fear that he’ll soon be your twin.
How could you leave me, waking me up
from our warm bed to say goodbye as
you slung you suitcase over your shoulders
slammed the door and left me in shreds?
Tramping on to new horizons, you hike away
from me leaving my painful proclamation
“The last letters of lonesome spells me.”

Umbrella of Darkness
Moon shields face
in ragged shrouds
by darkest clouds
diamonds lose luster
sheltering my soul
umbrella of darkness
famine of the unknown
clamp of life’s torments
cacophony of moonbeams
dissonance of unseen love
spinning of onyx night
moon skin-deep in sorrow
entwined with filtered fog
midnight blue thoughts
moody night churns
moon gnashes teeth.
