Final Hour

It seems all I ever do is run away.

My problems cannot hurt me if I run.

So I do.

I reach the darker trails now,

faster,

faster,

faster,

running faster,

on and on,

an endless hour,

I see my goal ahead now,

the final destination.

I go to you, overjoyed that I no longer have to flee.

I let you take me in your arms, a final loving embrace,

Before the deed is done,

and with Death I take my place.
