Voices

Nia stared at the flat screen tv.

"What is it?" She asked.

"That is a TV screen" The strange boy answered. Nia had never seen one before. She had followed the strange boy into a room deep within the Assembly Hall. There was what looked like a desk with some controls on it. It was all strange to Nia but the strange boy seemed to recognize all of it.

Nia had no idea what they were doing here. The room was plain and with the exception of the desk, there was nothing in it. The strange boy stepped up to the desk and talked into one of controls sticking out of it. The lights in the room came on so they could see clearly and a voice spoke. Nia couldn't tell where the voice was coming from or who was speaking. It sounded like it was coming from all around her. After a few minutes she snapped out of her daze and started listening to the conversation the strange boy was having with the unseen voice.

"How do you know my name and why were you expecting me?" The strange boy said.

"Because I'm the one who summuned you." The voice answered.

Nia had no idea where the person was who owned the unseen voice and it made her nervous. The world she thought she lived in was taking a strange turn and she wasn't sure that she liked it.

"Why me? Why not someone smart?" The strange boy asked.

"Because Lisa trusts you" The unseen voice replied. Nia wondered who Lisa was and how she was connected to the strange boy and the unseen voice. Nia was trying to pay attention to the conversation. She didn't really understand what was going on but the strange boy didn't seem fazed by any of it. She noticed the strange boy taking something but she didn't know what it was.

"You need to go now. The preacher knows you are here and is coming for you." the unseen voice said. After that the strange boy grabbed Nia's hand and looked into one of the holes in the cube he always carried. There was a flash of light and Nia and the strange boy vanished into thin air.
