What has happened here in the American culture is that decency has been replaced with satire and sarcasm has been masquerading as cleverness and being insightful. Mockery is now chivalry and respect for our fellow human beings is nonexistent because it is the affirmation of intrinsic worth which proves that there is value in that human soul.

So what do we do?

We strip the humanity out of the person to resemble a caricature of that individual so we can poke it, prod it, and make it twitch into an unrecognizable person that has been contorted and twisted into a perverted version of itself so we can be a better person than them.

We make them the villains and ourselves the hero.

The heart is truly deceitful when it has its way.
