whatever i do
i can't cram this into the
thick skull of mine
my head is throbbing
i cant process anything
do i fight or flight
just need someone to
tell me that everything will
work out in the end
yeah they put up a
mock show of caring though they
want me to shut up
muscles tensing up
just want to roar and scream but
that wont help a thing
i think ill just go
to my bed and hopefully
everything will be-
Do you remember when we were free?
We pranced around on the velvety grass
Dozed under the great birch tree
Enjoying the breeze as we did a little dance
Long ago, we were unbound
Without a care in the world
Together we visited playgrounds all around
On the roundabout we used to twirl!
But then we reminisced about those days
Staring down at our answer scripts in distaste
We once didn’t have to worry about 1000-word essays
Can’t help but feel it was such a waste
We thought adulthood meant we’d be free
But after growing up we could both safely say:
’Adulthood really isn’t my cup of tea
All I look forward to is my payday...′
But as the sun set “we” became “I”
Why hadn’t I talked more to you...
When did all my plans go awry
My sorrow and anguish grew and grew
‘grew and grew’
i wish we didn’t, though.
weren’t we supposed to stay young forever?
Once upon a time I took your hand
And we cavorted in our peaceful dreamland
We waltzed together arm in arm
Captivated by each others’ grace and charm
Romping together till the end of time
Your gracefulness was simply sublime
We left our cares and worries behind
Your soft touch gave me a peace of mind
Under the night sky we gambolled in delight
As we admired the beautiful twilight
We lifted our gazes to the brilliant hue above
Our hearts filling with warmth and love
tired of trying.
to conquer the sea was
a goal long ago
now a mere wish
you once gritted your teeth
with a firm resolve
you believed you could fly
but instead you
plummeted down below
time and time again
everyone else above
while you dwelled in the
sick of crying.
time and time
hot salty stinging tears
but what does it matter?
in the great vast sea
what do you matter?
get a grip!
on a rock
last hope, but once again
tumbling down below
as a cry escapes
water gushing in
its the end.
but im smiling!
i’m floating up
breaking the shimmering sparkling surface
wings start to sprout
could this be it?
finally taking flight
in sheer delight
thinking of another breeze
what a wonderful sight
flying floating fluttering flitting
among the others...
