Animals
They have four legs, but often walk on two.
They are very intelligent, able to use tools.
They attack each other constantly.
They wrote this post.
snork, snuffle
the furry creature snuffles in the damp and rich soil for roots, its creamy tusks digging in the ground.
its snout begins to tingle and it sniffs slowly in the air.
it follows the sweetly delicious scent and behold!
the forest jewels gleaming in the bush like rubies.
grunting in satisfaction, the creature enjoys its snack of forest berries.
it saunters of with a happy sensation, tail bouncing in the air.
If you can guess the animal, comment down below! :)
What Am I?
Slim and fat and tubby,
Throat tight as a bursting balloon,
Creak and croak and rumble,
Leaping through the muddy lagoon.
Burnt.
My poor family awaits me, you see
to bring them food up in the tree
But I am broken, I am weak,
I have burns throughout my whole body.
The smoke in the air is just so harsh
on my lungs and in my eyes.
I climb to the top of a tree so slow
I look down at all the fires below.
My grey soft fur is now charcoal burnt.
My cute black nose peels pink, it hurts.
But I cannot
give up hope
I cry for help
no one hears me though.
My four legs, trembling
Claws, deteriorating.
My eyes are closing now, good night.
I’m sorry I just can no longer fight.
.............Is that blood?
I feel a drop.
It has no scent,
it’s clear and...what!?
This is water! This is rain!
I will rejoice again!
No animal is now tougher than me,
here I come
my family awaits me, you see.

Tiny adorbs
When I saw you first,
You portrayed a familiar face with a familiar kind.
Those lovely buttoned eyes
and a clueless tiny mind.
I've seen you live there,
clutching the barks of the tree.
I wish I could hold you
in thy arms,
and pet you in reality.
Those teddy fashioned ears,
That brunet bulged nose.
You went viral,
Famous with that 'come hither' pose.
Toxic M&M’s
They keep leaving toxic hors d'oeuvres behind, much to my chagrin, a culinary delight according to my poodle. The mock M&M's keep making him ill but unlike humans, trying to teach a down and dirty dog cause and effect is one big fat exercise in futility.
As if the stomach distress of my dog wasn't bad enough, the little fuckers eat just about everything in my garden, including the barberry, a bush that sports needle like thorny thorns. Jiminy crickets! Do they possess teflon tongues?
I'm inside looking out my slider at the bushes right now and they are as bald as George Castanza, damn it. But, holla at your boy, gotta give it up when they hop off from here to their next victim. Don't they just look too damn cute protruding that sweet little cottontail.
Dickinsonian Animal Poem
A shadowed figure stark and still
Up there upon the tree
Revolved her head and hoos so shrill
She seems to call to me
But below commotion stirs the mice
They scurry to and fro
Then with a swoop they’re in her vice
Her presence too stealthy to know.
Frankenstein
My friend has many colors,
tan and blue and green and red
with heartfelt, white-rimmed eyes
and flat-ish, black-capped head.
His chest is striped and fluffy,
he likes to scream when we’re apart
and with four toes on each foot
he grips my finger and my heart.
-for my little green monster
An Animal Riddle
The length in ears make up for the shorteest tail,
a cotton-tail.
As it sits to eat clovers, we ooh and ahh,
at the adorable creature, be it black, gray white, brown, or even a mix of these colors.
What is this creature?
Who am I?
I am the thankless defender of my castle. My badge hangs proudly around my neck as I stand, tall and still, gazing out the castle depths for any sign of trouble. Sometimes, a stranger approaches our entrance and I ward him off before he knocks our reinforcements in. My King and Queen often admonish me for being too enthusiastic. I gladly take the scolding if it means that they are safe from the trespasser they call “the Mailman.”
Each day, my King and Queen leave and I am left to guard the castle all alone. Though it is a thankless job, it is a duty I take most seriously. I reassume my position and patiently wait for their return.
