... and he said to me
Death with no Face
“I am your dream turned nightmare,
a hellish inferno, waiting;
waiting to haunt your soul
with raging madness,
to burn fear into your darkest days.
Your life is forfeit
In an abyss of blackness never fathomed.
as those before you have tried and failed,
I await your useless challenge
to cling to a life, rightfully mine.
When you sleep;
listen for my roar of laughter.
It will really be your insanity screaming.
I wait foolish one.
I wait.”
Like love
....No one
has been
so steadfast
and Loyal
...Stood
before you
without Trace
or recoil
...Waiting
always
and Only
...To catch
You
when
Falling...
...Not the trip
but the Net
at the end
of It
...Set
like the
final Deed
writ...
...The perfect
marriage
Your-soul
and me
...In the
humble
Tussle
of eternity

so spake death
Don’t act surprised to see me
You’ve been courting me for years
I’ve heard your voice in darkness
In between the tears
It’s time to go, beloved
Release that monster from your chest
Take my hand, and come away
Forever be my guest
The Devil is in the Details
I open my eyes to a repetitive clicking sound as shadows dance across the walls animatedly. My mouth is dry, and I am tasting fabric of some sort, I try to speak, but all I hear are muted sounds coming from me.
“Ah, she’s finally awake. Take the cloth from her mouth.” Someone with a feminine voice order. I look around before an acidic smelling hand rips the fabric from my mouth, I hiss.
“Much better. So, you made it through the tunnel with just a scratch on you. Impressive to say the least.” I feel the presence circle me as I stay bound to the chair.
“Why can’t I see you?” I struggle with the chains that bound me in place. The presence continues to circle me as shadows across the walls continue to dance.
“Because, you haven’t passed the initiation, yet. Child, tell me why you are here in my realm?” The voice was just a whisper, but I felt compelled to answer.
“What? What do you mean, realm?” I am confused and scared, but the feminine voice soothes my worry.
“You’re dead, my child. Do you not know where you are?” The shadows stop dancing as my chair is forcibly turned in a certain direction. “Your chair is pointed south…” The voice trails off.
“I don’t know anything! Just let me go!” I scream into a dark void that seemed endless. The rhythmic clicking sound stops abruptly, and dead silence follows. “Hello?” I call out, still no answer. Who knew silence can be deafening? I struggled to free myself from the chains for what seemed like hours, but I needed to be free. Within seconds, I am picked up still bound to the chair and thrown against the wall, breaking the chair into pieces. I groan from the impact as I lay on the floor trying to reject the bouts of pain shooting through me.
“You. Do. Not. Get. To. Yell. In. My. Presence.” The presence circled me again, but this time I saw a faint shape of a person or something. “Do you know why you are here?” The voice was stern and dominant.
“Where is here?” I grunt out.
“Hell. Well, your Hell so to speak.” The voice was slightly lighthearted. Weird. “Careful child, I can read your surface thoughts.”
Blinking my eyes rapidly, “Hell. My Hell. Okay. I am here because of a robbery gone wrong. I was desperate for cash, and I accidentally shot the cashier.” I whisper the last bit of details. Guilt has taken over swiftly. With one move, I am lifted in midair, my feet dangling as the air in my lungs is slowing down. I grip my neck as continually gasping for air.
“Try again, my child. Lie to me again, and you won’t ever know respite!” The voice is more sinister and demanding as I just want to die. “You are already dead. Now speak!”
“I-I killed a rapist ten years ago for raping a helpless immobile person who couldn’t even fight back! He did unspeakable things, and I did worse to him. I have no regrets! None!” I scream as loud as I could with the lack of air. My eyes adjust to the presence holding me. Noir eyes, silky skin and a black halo hovering over its head. “Th-the Devil…” The presence nods. “The Devil is…a woman?” She lets me go, as I fall to the ground, hissing in pain while rubbing my throat.
The Devil blows out an irritating sigh, “The Devil is in the Details.”

Irony
"Hi Jameson. I know you're not afraid of me anymore. Most people fear me, mainly because they don't understand me. Isn't that interesting Jameson? People fear you for the same reason. We're a lot alike, you and I. We should meet up sometime."
Phoenix
Get off your knees, child. Death is not ready for you. You do not belong here.
You have only this life to live. You have to walk through fire to get what you want, so stop waiting.
Whether the time is perfect or whether it feels off, you only have right now. You're going to burn either way, you might as well face it.
You can't move forward without action. Stop letting fear dictate your experiences in life and stop begging for an end while desperately searching for a new beginning.
You might surprise yourself with how far you can go just by embracing the flames as they push you forward instead of blaming them for holding you back.

It’s Dark Behind the Eyes
When I was a little boy I loved being in the woods
I’d war game with friends and we’d shoot BB guns at each other
We’d play with fireworks
And smoke cigarettes we stole from our dads
We were just boys being boys
And imitaing each other
Showing off all the dumb, dangerous bullshit we were told we’d better not get caught doing
Then one day I was out in the woods by myself
After watching Terminator
Or Full Metal Jacket
Or Predator
I can’t remember what movie it was
Something with blood and guts
Or aliens and spaceships
Whatever it was, there I was out in the woods
With a book of matches, a sling shot, and some fireworks
Full of bad ideas I needed to perfect before showing them off to my friends
And while minding my own business
I was interrupted
By an Old Man who changed my life forever
And to this day
After all I’ve been through
And everything I’ve seen
While shedding skins over time to become the person I am now
There’s one thing I will tell you about the Old Man in the woods that day
Something He said, “Close your eyes and think about it. Before you open them; know that you are what’s wrong with the world.”
When I open my eyes and look out at the world today
I understand completly
rebirth
"Pass unhindered, but remember
I'll be watching and I'll get you on the next time round".
NOW
are you ready?
but there is so much left to do...
we must go now.
can I say goodbye?
no. NOW.
but...
they'll be fine without you.
yes. all the same...
NOW.
okay.
I'm ready.
Final Destination
I heard a whisper coming through the sealed walls, followed by a knock on my door. Suddenly, my cozy king size bed lost its warmth and under the soft sheets, I felt a chilling coldness. Then, I also discerned a door slamming closed, followed by a rapid foot stump.
Somehow, I felt the imminent end was nearing by.
I sneaked a look through the desolated darkness, trying to control the situation. When I gained my full strength, it was too late. I felt two cold hands, tapping on my shoulders, and pressing me down tightly. Then they held a pillow over my mouth, suffocating me in my sleep. I tried fighting them off, but the grip was too tight, like a bolted shackling iron. I tried gasping for air, but nothing seemed to work. It was too late to struggle. I just let it be, and allowed myself to take the last breath, as much as my lungs could soak up, and closed my eye forever.
A moment later, when I opened my eyes, I met up with the angel of darkness himself, Mr. Death. He was happy to see me, and grabbing my throat firmly, he began dragging me on the floor to our destination, as if he wanted to drain out any ounce of blood that was left in me.
Unfortunately, to his surprise, I had finished bleeding the moment I stopped breathing.
I laughed as I hauled my two numb and dead feet, because, I thought maybe Mr. Death didn’t get the complete memo about biology class, which is, once all living things die, they feel no pain at all.
On our way there; I didn’t know the exact location, we said nothing. It was quiet and cold. The walk was too long, therefore, I had to break the cold silence.
“Why? Why are you doing this to me now?”
Death looked into my dead eyes in amusement.
“Don’t you think you’ve had enough time already?”
I saw the agitation and arrogance in his question. I was fumed with rage and frowned.
Without any pause or thoughts, I replied, “No, I do not. It’s way too early for me to sleep forever. I’ve lots of things to do,” I said angrily.
I saw him roll his eyes and a spark of laughter hanging on his face, yet he was still thinking of a reply.
After a short pause, he cleared his throat and spoke in a faint deception.
“If it was up to me, I wanted to take you with me a long time ago, during the many visits I’ve had a pleasure of seeing you!”
That made me even madder. I was so chafed with his insensitivity. He had no regard for life, or room for any remorse or compassion. He thinks he has the fullest audacity over my life. His words were mean and cruel, as if I didn’t deserve living on this earth to begin with.
No matter how true his assertions might be, the time was too young for my departure. I had assured him of that, my tallest standing, my deep belief with great prejudice.
Yet, in the end, it didn’t really matter arguing with him anymore, for he wouldn’t seem to have any inclination of sending me back, even if he had the power to do so. For the rest of our long journey, I remained cold and silent.
At least, he couldn’t take that away from me.
