as skin soaks golden rays of sun
while sultry breezes tease?

Lazy? Must Be Crazy!
Kicking Back
A lazy day
is just another way
to procrastinate
about something that can wait.
Do as I will, do as I must,
my sense of obligation I do trust,
to settle back and do nothing at all
seems a cowards way out to take a deep fall.
Lazy days, very few found in the life of in between,
for it always seems,
something must be done,
be it twenty things or one.
I have no day to settle back and ponder nothing,
hence my mind is shuffling, and my voice will sing.
My lazy day though comes every night,
when head meets pillow and I call it a night.
Lazy Sunday
Lazy Sundays are the best,
Better than all the rest.
Saturday is made for fun,
Games and sports for everyone.
But when Sunday comes around,
On the couch is where I’m found.
Video games or a tv show,
Snacks will be had, this I know.
I’ll try not to dwell on evil Monday,
While I enjoy my lazy Sunday.
A lazy day
Soft blanket
comfy chair
feet tucked under
a book in hand
to read
or to write
beautiful music
filling my home
reflecting the weather
or my mood
perhaps both
no dinner to cook
no dirty laundry
no dusting, sweeping
mopping or toilet cleaning
no chores
no work
a lazy day.
Thank Goodness for Lazy Days
Occasionally,
A lazy day is necessary
A time for watching YouTube videos,
Until my dark eyes start to blur
A time for playing games,
Until my tired hands finally cramp
A time for cuddling with my precious kitties,
Until I drift into a light, peaceful sleep
A sacred day
Of participating in my favorite activities
To keep the insanity at bay
