Fear
I can feel my sanity slipping
When my dreams decide
To invite reality into my mind
At night
When I am at my
Most vulnerable
And can't run away
Or fight back
And all I can do
Is watch as you approach
Already knowing
What is going to happen.
Skies Painted Black
Falling, forever falling
Into the void of endless
Darkness
I see all yet I am blinded
My senses devoted to one thought
Darkness
Frozen air pierces my spine
Small needless hanging from my skin
Darkness
A voice calls out to me
I am helpless to escape
Darkness
The Unknown
Fear is usually the unknown and humans are quick to judge by looks rather than facts.
Dancing with Bees; Learning to Trust the Wrong Person
Breathe in her pollen
as you divulge your soul
to the keeper of a garden,
your garden.
She, the beekeeper,
listens and accepts,
but hidden in her hive lies
a wasp.
thoughts cannot kill
Fear: an imagined emotion to distract our human minds from making the necessary change in order to exist in the present moment; a strained imagination ready to take control at any moment.
We are born with only two fears: Loud Noises and Falling.
Deductively then, all other fear is man-made.
Next stop: Fear
Fear is a deadly train ride
The first stop is dread
The next stop is agitation
Once we're underway again we meet trepidation
But this doesn't stop us from gripping frights hands
Once it has a grip on us we run into fright
Last stop is terror, before we exit
Fear is an utter abstraction
To describe it would take more words
than all the stars in the sky
and all the grains of sand on a beach
words? Hah.
Words are useless when it comes to instinct.
Unfathomable
I cower in the crevice
within my mind
The world outside dark
As ebony
Laughing at my
Weakness

What is fear?
Fear is a monster we create.
Birthed by our minds.
Cultivated by our insecurities.
Maintained by our acceptance of it.
Thriving by hiding and waiting
For the perfect moment to reappear.
Thirty-one words, to be exact.
