Rise

All is dark and silent.

All is still and grim.

Your conscience scurries along into every corner of your brain-

Searching endlessly for a way of escape.

Suddenly, a tingling sense of urgency hovers over the back of your neck.

Your heart begins to pound. Your breaths become deep.

You move to to the left and to the right, but you still remain bound.

Then comes the sound. First, it rings out quietly...

But, slowly and surely, it increases velocity.

The siren blares loudly. The light floods in.

And, with a strain, you crack open your eyelids.

Finally awake, you sit up.

Rise and shine, my darling.

Monday morning awaits.
