Prologue
in a corner of a crowded cafe
sat a girl and her words
fascinated by a man
who was enjoying more than his coffee-
drinking in the attention of others
who she presumed was his posse...
Her Locket
her locket she hid away
tucked under sweater
whispering to herself,
"it's all for the better".
she kept it hidden away
only to take it out
on those nights she felt alone
wrapped in self doubt.
inside her silver locket
she kept her hopes and dreams,
that one day her life
would be more than it seems.
His Locket
his heart is a locket
delicate shiny and gold
at rest on his chest
for the world to see and hold.
hoping one day someone would open it up
and take a look inside,
to see all his secrets
and love he had to hide.
Library
he was the light to my pen
and i should have known then
that he would shine his light
on the darkness i write,
making it less lonely and scary
turning my dark heart
into a beautiful library.
Countless
how many times
did i have to fall in love
before i fell in love with myself?
... countless
how many places
did i have to move
before i realized
i am my own home?
... countless
how many lies
did i have to tell
before i realized
i wasnt okay?
... countless
how many prayers
did i have to pray
before God said
okay?
... countless
Internal Dialogue
the best conversations
happen between the heart and the mind,
talking about
all the love we will find.
all the love we will find
and the love thats been lost,
the love we set free,
and the love come back to us.
