a conflagration

I

W. R. I. T. E.

Because if i dont,

I

might just

B!

U!

R!

S!

T!

with all these words inside me.

My thoughts won't let me sleep

my feelings take giant leaps

my fingers tremble like withered leaves

my sanity silently weeps.

my skin creeps

my breath leaves

my mind gyrates

my teeth grate

and that is why

I

W. R. I. T. E.

Dole it out

Everything a glance would suffice,

of what in the green grass lies.

Trotting, trudging, falling and sighing,

feet still moving through hollow cries.

Stopping, stepping, moving again,

fear balled up into minisicule fists.

Jumping , flying, crashing and trying,

life can’t be summed up in lists.

Run little soldier,

Run for your life.

There's a whole world chasing behind,

There's a whole world waiting ahead.

Write Ugly
Whether its with choppy sentences, weird topic, or in your characterization/dialogue, write something ugly. I put in a lot of effort to make my writing sound good and feel rhythmic, making my prose almost poetic. I'm tired of it. Please write me something to inspire off-beat styling. Please tag @wabisabi, I'll be choosing the winner.

Ugly, this should be enough

B. L. O. O. M.

like a fart cloud as it rips through your pants.

S. I. N. G.

like that kid who took one vocals class and thinks he is now John Legend.

D. A. N. C. E.

like you do to hold in your pee when the bathroom stalls are filled.

L. O. V. E.

like dirt and your white sneakers.

L. A. U. G. H.

or just snort.

worm-illion

worm-illion

that's how the blood runs

away from the truth

and dries up in the soil.

Blue for Li (Part III)

So once more she gathered up

Her crimson dress

Laced with purple flowers

with her blue stained palms,

And locked it away

Far far away.

Then she noticed,

Other lives flashing by.

Running along the wind

Soaring through the skies.

But they always ended up,

Ended up with a sigh

And a last dying hope,

That never reached the sky.

But she was stagnant.

As placid as a lake

Rejoicing in it’s solitude.

As soothing as the sweep of cold wind

Against a tear stained cheek.

She saw time take it’s toll,

As pink turned to paper white.

Her own eyes,

Once flecked with gold,

Were now an amethyst

With a brown under light.

Now she still wore her flowers

But not on her head

They were laced into her dress

They were wreathed along the hem,

You could even see them blooming

In the abyss of her pearl eyes.

And her long flowing locks

Turned to wisps of silver grey

That glinted in the sun.

But if you looked close enough,

You could see one flower

Braided along, just one.

It was not his crimson,

It was not the pearl of her eyes,

It was not the pink of her teenage,

It was not the black of the night.

It was

A glimpse of her blue.

Blue for Li (Part II)

So she took fistfuls of the colour

And splashed it all over her Life

Only to watch some of it crumble

While the rest faded to white.

And so she gathered her

Stained hands

And took off the flowers from her hairdo,

She brushed off her temper,

And alighted in desires new.

Now she was aware

Of every little movement of herself

Walking on tiptoes

In dresses new,

She had on a slight tint of beige now,

But somehow, her life was still tainted blue.

And soon as she started looking,

She found the red to her blue,

The white to her black,

The satisfaction to her rue.

And the blue in her life

Turned to royal purple in his crimson.

It washed down her in thick rivers of joy.

And the blue inside her

Seemed almost next to none.

But then suddenly one night,

A night of deep thundering black,

She came home to a void as dark

And perhaps even more so,

Than the melancholy weeping night.

And the blue in her soul

Sprung through the tears on her face,

And she let herself break,

In her dead lover’s embrace.

From that night and so on,

She hated the purple hue,

For not being him,

For not being able to stain off her blue.

And the black night of death,

Soon melted away.

But her blue came back,

And her icy heart would always remain a trace,

Of the hand of crimson caressing blue,

Of the fairytale that never came true.

Blue for Li (Part I)

True as the earth we live in

There is the story of a girl

With frayed hair of Chinese black

And flecked eyes of silver pearls.

When she was young

She rode the waves

Of life

And whatever she knew

Was all she needed

As she sang and merry lay.

Then she sprouted a temper,

And indignation bloomed through her eyes

Like plumes of smoke that erupted

Until another emotion drunk them dry.

And she started looking in the mirror more

To see if she could add another flower.

Another one,

And another

Until her bouquet ran empty.

But the bloom of the flower

And the fragrance of it’s dew

Passed unnoticed through still emptier souls.

And she had different colours in her hand

There was red,

There was yellow,

There was green too.

But after staring at skies,

And wondering at oceans wide,

She decided she would choose blue.

The candle that burns

The days are too far gone to catch the last dying ray of sunshine.

The locks of the Sun tumble reckelssly on the sea,

they could sink any moment now.

The eyes have gone searchingly for so long.

They have been bright and dull all at once,

they could close any moment now.

The birds have echoed their way through the dawn.

Their voices are now like the phantom touch of a snatched veil,

they could fade away any moment now.

But the miles to go,

the people to be,

the moments to live,

the hues to see,

they keep me alive

through the dark of the night.

As under the bright stars,

I toil for the light,

It has been a long lone time,

It has been a long dark time.

I see now through my open eyes,

the Sun rising once more amongst the veiled mountains,

the birds returning once more to echo through my day.

It had been a long lone time,

It had been a long dark time,

And there is no one to blame.

But to give up now,

would be a certain shame.

The Essence of Mortality

There was scarlett on the roof,

there was scarlett on the door.

There was scarlett on the walls,

but there was black in my soul.

My mind denied furiously,

as my heart nodded acquiescence.

It was so deep a manifestation,

the Ravens of Madness overshadowed my sense.

And to me, justice would be scarlett,

only then would the roots of revenge quiver and be quenched.

And nothing seemed so deliciously dark,

as my madness, your soul, the sheets: scarlett drenched.

And gold poured out in waterfalls,

in thick steady streams of scarlett and brown.

Hell and Mortality conjoined at the heart,

As a lone soul cried in silent sounds.

And baleful lies floated like wisps of clouds,

and with smoky tendrils wrapped around,

a cold body,

six feet underground.

And true truth got clogged up,

in drains of envy and revenge.

And jealousy slowly spurned the scarlett to black,

and pathos started alighting in rage,

as Mortality left Morality rotting in it's cage.

Blue Brookes

'There was glitter on her nails.

And that was the only thing glimmering in the dark.'

Usually when I woke up every morning,

the Sun would wash me with it's light.

But what would truly open my eyes,

was the light from your soul.

And it poured out in waterfalls ,

from your shining blue eyes.

I could feel every ripple, every tide,

for tranquility and turbulence are where true love lies.

Then one day I woke up,

and instead of glimmering, gurgling waterfalls,

I found heavy breathing,

and sheets drenched scarlett.

And then that scarlett turned to black,

as it soaked all of my misery,

and the waterfalls of my salvation gurgled no more.

"There was glitter on her nails.

And that was the only thing glimmering in the dark.",

I thought,

as the white coats swayed around like trees.

There were blue waters, blue skies, blue oceans, blue times,

but nothing as blue as your serene eyes.

And nothing I could say ,

to make you open your eyes.

Nothing I could do ,

to accept our fate.

Nothing I imagine, ,

beyond what lied in front.

Nothing I could do,

but memorise your face.

As they took you away.
