I try and write for every challenge I can before the dates end. I hope you will take the time to enter this one. I offer you the opportunity to share what in your life right now is a challenge to you personally, and what was something in your 'before' that you thought at that time was just as big of a challenge for you, but now is not? Any form- cause that ripple effect. Winner gets a a gallon of gas- all entries get to inspire and hopefully be inspired.

Write a poem about Jesus- but describing him as something that is translated through your senses, maybe as the pleasing aroma of mountain air, the taste of fresh figs, the feeling of holding an ice cube too long... Match your relationship with him to the relationship you have with whatever you chose to describe him with- make it personal and true to your own experience. A prize will be awarded.

Winning challenges here are fun. Winning anything can be fun, but when you put not just your work, but also yourself into something you have created, it is such a sweet reward. I have lost, but and especially here on Prose, I have won. So, I would like to know about something in your life you have won and how it felt prior and after. :). Hello writers. In the states an old tradition that dates back to some really cool history (depending on who you ask, I am somewhat of a dork in my special interests, one being history) and which has drawn a lot of attention in recent years... the changing of the clocks. Where I am in the US we 'spring' an hour forward when winter is at an end and we 'fall' back an hour as we transition into winter. SO my challenge is... you are given one extra hour Sunday night November 1st of this year at 2am. How would you fill that 'extra' hour, what would you do during this sanctioned time traveling? I plan to send a lil 'juice' to my favorite. Have fun and I look forward to responses! :) Oh... ya know what...If you are someone who has in the past voted (yes it has been on a ballot or two) and you feel strongly about the abolishment of the tradition, please by all means state your case... but please live in an area that is effected by the practice. Perhaps 'juice' will come to a great argument as well. yeah!

What did you loose? Knowing we are just weeks away from another 'new year' does it change the way you think about another 'new start'? . For the sake of us all, no political centered posts, please. I have lost too many friends over such nonsense. . I think I may be more interested in I thought this years would be.... but instead it was..... . Juice for the the stories that make me happy, or perhaps opposite to that, a little better based on how disgustingly messed up my elated expectations and then the reality of what it has been.

Lemmie hear something interesting, odd, or just cool. Also, tell me how you know that nugget of what may be little known facts. Keep it rated PG, please. Short and simple is great- or a bit longer with a story is always satisfying as well. The fact must be something you already knew... no asking uncle google for help... be honest fellow wordsmiths! Start your post with 'Did you know...' and then free type that knowledgeable little crumble. If I did not know your little known fact, I may drop ya a buck or two. :D I will go first to set the bar. Did you know... cashews are not actually a nut? They grow on a tree and produce fruit that sort of resembles a colored pepper (or capsaicin if you are not in the US) and on the fruit grows what people THINK is a nut, but it isn't. A quick google search can take you to a fantastic photo. I learned this from trying to tell my Gram why cashews cost more than peanuts and why there was never 'heavy cashew' in the mixed nuts she was so fond of. :)

What age are you now... and what would be in your hurt locker as far back as you may be able to remember? format is up to you, but I am very happy to see actual lists with a short as possible descriptions of each item you would find. xo
