...10 days of Halloween... GOB #1
As we are in the 'ber' months, I'd like to start a little fall/winter mixer of sorts.
Each day, starting now- I will post a way to interact as we count down to one of the most anticipated days of the year. As the game moves on, the prompts may get a bit more TRICKy--but for those who participate, a TREAT will be in-store...
Today... use the portal of 'Haiku'
I will share our opening game's art on the discord, or you can swipe it from here. Use this AI created jack-o-lantern patch as your muse for your post banner (however you'd like to line it up or format it) then create a dual Haiku- the first reflecting on the image, and the second declaring your entry into GOB!!!
Available points for play one:
+One point for playing day of posting
+One point for post with the most likes
+One point for whichever post I favor
..... as play goes on can you lose a point if you miss a direction or clue?? hmm
Don't worry, I will be keeping score
To those who will be participating-
Welcome to the Games Of Bers!!

Tomato Sandwich
Over the summer I threw up a post titled 'tomato sandwich' My challenge is for someone to write the first part to what I posted. Tag me if you like, but I will get to reading them all by Halloween for your $20 treat. I will take likes into consideration, but will ultimately choose the person who sets the stage best. Should be a fun one.

Challenges
I try and write for every challenge I can before the dates end. I hope you will take the time to enter this one.
I offer you the opportunity to share what in your life right now is a challenge to you personally, and what was something in your 'before' that you thought at that time was just as big of a challenge for you, but now is not?
Any form- cause that ripple effect. Winner gets a a gallon of gas- all entries get to inspire and hopefully be inspired.

Sensibilities
Write a poem about Jesus- but describing him as something that is translated through your senses, maybe as the pleasing aroma of mountain air, the taste of fresh figs, the feeling of holding an ice cube too long... Match your relationship with him to the relationship you have with whatever you chose to describe him with- make it personal and true to your own experience. A prize will be awarded.

describe a color that does not exist
Use your imagination to name, and describe a new color WITHOUT using any other color or shade in the description. Have fun. Try and remember to tag me, or I won't see all of your creativity. There could be juice in your future. :)

.to win or not to win.
Winning challenges here are fun. Winning anything can be fun, but when you put not just your work, but also yourself into something you have created, it is such a sweet reward. I have lost, but and especially here on Prose, I have won. So, I would like to know about something in your life you have won and how it felt prior and after. Keep it clean, and tag me because I won't remember to look. I am using some prize money to juice those who have earned perhaps the smallest of wins but have been overjoyed even in something that took hard work for simple acknowledgment. xo

Let those of us who do, fall backwards!
:). Hello writers. In the states an old tradition that dates back to some really cool history (depending on who you ask, I am somewhat of a dork in my special interests, one being history) and which has drawn a lot of attention in recent years... the changing of the clocks. Where I am in the US we 'spring' an hour forward when winter is at an end and we 'fall' back an hour as we transition into winter. SO my challenge is... you are given one extra hour Sunday night November 1st of this year at 2am. How would you fill that 'extra' hour, what would you do during this sanctioned time traveling? I plan to send a lil 'juice' to my favorite. Have fun and I look forward to responses! :) Oh... ya know what...If you are someone who has in the past voted (yes it has been on a ballot or two) and you feel strongly about the abolishment of the tradition, please by all means state your case... but please live in an area that is effected by the practice. Perhaps 'juice' will come to a great argument as well. yeah!

Hindsight
Let's hear about your 2020... what have you learned? How are you different? Have your thought or opinions changed? In any form you like (except please, please, please, not the vertical one word at a time in a list of words, I have a brain injury and if it is one word at a time I can't ready it; makes me seasick) xo
What came into your life that was good? What did you loose? Knowing we are just weeks away from another 'new year' does it change the way you think about another 'new start'?
.
For the sake of us all, no political centered posts, please. I have lost too many friends over such nonsense.
.
I think I may be more interested in I thought this years would be.... but instead it was.....
.
Juice for the the stories that make me happy, or perhaps opposite to that, a little better based on how disgustingly messed up my elated expectations and then the reality of what it has been.

Give me a good tid-bit
Lemmie hear something interesting, odd, or just cool. Also, tell me how you know that nugget of what may be little known facts. Keep it rated PG, please. Short and simple is great- or a bit longer with a story is always satisfying as well. The fact must be something you already knew... no asking uncle google for help... be honest fellow wordsmiths! Start your post with 'Did you know...' and then free type that knowledgeable little crumble.
If I did not know your little known fact, I may drop ya a buck or two. :D
I will go first to set the bar.
Did you know... cashews are not actually a nut? They grow on a tree and produce fruit that sort of resembles a colored pepper (or capsaicin if you are not in the US) and on the fruit grows what people THINK is a nut, but it isn't. A quick google search can take you to a fantastic photo. I learned this from trying to tell my Gram why cashews cost more than peanuts and why there was never 'heavy cashew' in the mixed nuts she was so fond of. :)

What age are you now... and what would be in your hurt locker as far back as you may be able to remember?
format is up to you, but I am very happy to see actual lists with a short as possible descriptions of each item you would find. xo
