Fibonnaci Poetry

This is a format suggested by poets I met through Vocal.media . It follows the Fibonnaci sequence for number of words on a line. 1-1-2-3-5-8 This is the same for each verse or stanza you write.

Mortality

Precipitous

excrutiating

the realization

that the curtain

is swiftly unfurling, almost over

the world that is my life, stage black

waning

decaying

curling yellowed brittle

words that once moved, scratchings

meaningless marks on a page now, ashes, dust

Brief

infinite

the moments

that weave together

and make a life, sweet

or bitter, joy-filled or angst-ridden but wholly mine

soon

sooner

than anticipated

I will be

a mere memory, fleeting, fading

a whisper in time dispersing in the wind

While I am more than capable

of loving myself,

I would much rather

have someone else

put the effort into loving me.
