Where in this world

Does the smoke

You inhale

Give you that numbing high

Give you an unexplainable motivation

An unknown encouragement

To be deceitful to my beating heart

Placing me upon the uppermost cloud

In a soft ruby sky

"Find your own way down."

I am stranded in the radiant heavens

The only emotion I am capable of producing

Is resentment.

I step forth

Onto my podium of shattered stained glass

Confessing the truth

To God

To myself

And

My heart.
