What We Truly Have to Give

There's an unsung Greatness,

Absent from books and history.

It's considered "little"

With great effect on memory.

Often overlooked,

And not thought much about,

It's effect is like a summer rain

After years and years of drought.

A person filled with Kindness,

Is vastly richer than a king.

Their influence reaches farther,

Than the loudest bell can ring.

It stretches to the future,

As empty hands abound,

We remember Kindness,

And spread such wealth around.

It echos from the past,

Seeing a stranger with a woe,

We remember what it's like,

And pass Kind seeds to sow.

If I ever truly required help,

I'd wish for a Kind heart.

To give me what I needed,

To save me from the dark.

When we feel we have so little,

The truth is that we're wrong.

Kindness is a tremendous gift,

That gives our whole life long.

Such a profound ability,

That each of us possess.

Entrusting our goodwill,

To lessen a distress.

Kindness isn't only what we give,

It's a reminder we aren't alone,

That all of us are family.

That Kindness is how it's shown.

Next time there is a need,

Remember what you can give.

It only takes a moment,

To help somebody live.
