Springtime in Southern Appalachia
All around
colorful blossoms
are “showin’ out”
Promising that soon
roadstand peaches
will be “for sell”
By the bag or
“by the eaches”

Mariah
Regional dialects are fascinating to me. Please feel free to share any specific to where you live :)

Mariah
@Astrocentrik, hello neighbor! I am in NE Alabama and I love it here :)

Bunny
Beautiful!

Mariah
Thank you, @Bunny <3

Huckleberry_Hoo
Really nice. Dialects are drying up, mostly (more’s the pity). The only time pretty girls ever paid me any mind was the year I was up in Delaware. They went on about the way I talked, so I leaned into it of course, never sounding as southern down here as up there. ;)

Mariah
Haha oh yes… many a Northern girl are suckers for a Southern drawl! Thanks, @Huckleberry_Hoo :)

dctezcan
My knees got weak just imagining your drawl, @Huckleberry_Hoo. :-)

Mariah
Too funny, @dctezcan! :)

dctezcan
:-)

Mnezz
Lol @dctezcan <3 ^o^

Mariah
:) @Mnezz

schatz
I agree with @MadOne characterization: adorable. I love "by the eaches" :)

Mariah
Thanks so much, @schatz! Even though I have lived here in the South for a few years now, I can’t help but be amused and charmed by their colloquialisms when I hear them :)
