I was parched,

we passed

the flask ...

till it was dry,

maybe we'd

go now?

for the rain,

wagged our

tongues out

as it cried ...

a teaspoon

one night,

we wagered ...

find ourselves

some fine oasis,

refill the draughts

too long a walk,

hot, acrid then

cold and dark,

delirium in a cup

heat waves ....
