Write a Villanelle, My Genius Poets!
The villanelle is a French verse form consisting of five three-line stanzas and a final quatrain, with the first and third lines of the first stanza repeating alternately in the following stanzas. These two refrain lines from the final couplet in the quatrain. Here's what that looks like (letters for rhyme scheme, numbers mean a line repeats): A1 B A2//A B A1//A B A2//A B A1//A B A1 A2 No theme, no prompt other than make it great. Villanelle: Kisses Gone South

You'll know that all is amiss

When your pucker is compelled

It will all come down to this

You'll fall into the abyss

When disbelief is expelled

It is an upside-down kiss

You will see you are remiss

When scruples are soon quelled

It will all come down to this

You'll find you smoothly dismiss

The smile that has been withheld

It is an upside-down kiss

One day you will reminisce

Of prospects falsely felled

It will all come down to this

You will try to stop the crisis

But distrust of you has swelled

It will all come down to this

It is an upside-down kiss
