Challenge
Challenge of the Month XLI
Begin a story or poem about your first memory, but write it in the style of a Tarantino or Charlie Kaufman screenplay. Where it goes from there, use any style you want. Open the belly, bleed on the page. Winner gets 100 big ones. Go.
Strawberries
A toddler walks to Grandma's for strawberries.
A familiar male
they can only assume
Daddy walks behind.
The memory is vague and plain.
It's kind of like a 1-year-old wrote the plot.
Oh, wait that's exactly what happened
I was safe
we lived close together,
my mother has confirmed the story
down to the detail
of the green produce baskets.
