From the Peonies

Oh, how you have grown

From that fragile boy.

From the boy that stood amongst the peonies,

And stared at the sky,

To one that stares danger in the eyes,

In courageous challenge.

You were not my first love,

You have not been the last.

But there will always be a piece

Of me

That beats

I smile and watch

As you spin on your heel and stride through the ruins
