If You Would Reward Writing...

If you would reward writing

As to how it is written,

you should be very technical.

You should know

what it is:

an elegy, a haiku,

a microfiction

or a novel too,

or maybe a grand epic

or a long play script;

maybe a news article

or an essay spouting opinions

or just some random

journal entry

you'd like to publish.

Then after identifying

what kind of writing it is,

you may now pinpoint

every aspect it is made of,

like for poems:

rhythm, rhyme and meter;

prose stories with

characters, plot and theme;

and drama with its stage

productions.

But be careful

of being too general

as you want to be so critical

on picking out

how it has been scribbled.

And don't go into details

about the message and its emotions,

you want to be technical, stick to it.

If you would reward writing

as to how it makes you feel

and learn something,

be careful of your interpretations

for it may or may not

become helpful

to the writer and even to others

who read your comment

or review.

Likewise, be careful

of the figures of speech

you will find.

It may give you more insights

on what was written

by the author.

But stand by what you have felt,

read and understood

because that is what pulled

your heartstrings

to love what that writer

has conceived

with his or her words

and emotions.

Yet what about my opinion

you ask?

Oh, message is more important

because without it

you'd never understand

a written article

but you also have to look

at its method

to comprehend its form.
