Sick Note
A doused match head
still-warm and charred,
drawn slowly
along my lung's lining
by every tepid breath
in a damp, soft
burn of a line...
spawning a low,
radiant ache in my blood,
blooming like a sick smile
that shimmers through
every pore in my skin:
I might be contagious.
