Puppet Play

My hands tied up as the hand begins to move me

The audience that cheers just won’t leave me be

The clapping sounds, cheering, craving for more

All that’s ahead of me is a closed door

The string that I’m bound to, unable to escape

I’m the butterfly stuck in a spider’s tape

Don’t call for me, I won’t answer

But of course, I have no choice, I’m a dancer

Enduring humiliation my entire life

Constantly being perforated by a knife

My life hanging on a fragile rope,

as I gripped onto a ray of hope

When the curtain draws and cheers are heard,

another exquisite play began to be recurred

I hastily tuck away my life-like eyes

Look here, the dolls legs begins to rise

The puppet play that you enjoyed so much,

is its purpose to degrade me and such?

I abhor you, but yet my heart beats,

just because you’re in one of those seats

Your eyes observes me while my heart leap

The darkness around me starts to creep

I only want to gain your attention,

while ignoring others admiration

Even though I am just a empty doll,

I ask you, do you love me at all?

I’m confused why I end up loving my torturer

Are you, perhaps, a sorcerer?
