Rainbow Warrior

The time it took me to learn to fly,

Was the time you spent waiting to die.

I became the guidance you needed from me,

And you thought the end was something else entirely.

I wandered and I wondered.

I pondered you, as my heart thundered.

The warrior in me, was the warrior in us all.

But yours was different, your warrior would wrawl.

I heard it scream, I heard it bellow.

Your warrior was that aging fellow.

The one who's gray, who sleeps alone.

The one who's dark wished to be the rainbow.
