I throw my heart

against the walls you built

-

over and over

over and over

-

I aim at the cracks

hoping to break through

-

over and over

over and over

-

battered and bruised

pieces of my heart fly off

lie dead on the ground

-

over and over

over and over

-

when will it stop?

will this wall ever break?

-

over and over

over and over

-

a glimpse of sunshine,

a tiny hole!

renewed with hope I throw with all my might

-

over and over

over and over

-

my heart, now a third of its size,

the destruction lays all around me.

Finally it fits through the hole,

so grateful that it worked,

I tell myself I’m happy

-

over and over

over and over…

I am 21 years or older.
