need help: how do you find passion?
is the feeling of lacking passion normal? for the longest time i just feel so lost because i'm not really passionate about anything. i just try to do what other people are passionate about and end up giving up after a short period of time due to my lack of interest:(
Being Boring
I once had a conversation with someone in which I explained that most people find me boring. He corrected me by saying that it's not that I'm boring, it's just that my interests lie outside of what most people are interested in. If I met someone who shared my interests, they would not find me boring. So it's a matter of perspective.
There is something that excites you, it just may be something that doesn't excite the people around you. If you take a little time to think about it you should be able to figure it out. It's that thing that causes you to become excited when you think about it. So go think about it for awhile and while you are doing that I'll just be sitting here being boring.

@asterisk I hope this helps a little bit.

I have a question that's been bothering me a while which sort of raised its head when I read your post. I always get 'hyper' if I find someone criticising me - effectively judging me because I have different views or tastes or interests vis-a-vis them. I often find myself doing the same to others (and as I can see from your post perhaps we judge ourselves too often). How does one counter judgmentalism, in oneself or others, do you have any views?

I do have views on that. There are a couple of things. If you can’t handle people having different views or you can’t handle people questioning your own views it could mean that you are insecure and require validation from others. Different people have different experiences, live in different environments and are exposed to different cultures that shape how they look at the world and what they believe. If you dare enter the realm of politics or religion, someone is going to disagree with you no matter what your personal views are and people who engage in those types of debates have developed thick skins.

@StormAtSea Realizing you have an issue is the first step to resolving it, you just have to learn not to take things personal.

Hmm..thankx a ton, hopefully I'll learn. And perhaps someday I'll be equipped to voluntarily step into a debate about religion or politics - both have been taboo subjects as far as I was concerned - I'm now getting a glimmering of why :)
