Lattice

I sat on my bed and ran

My fingers along the lattice

of scars that ran like tattoos

Across my body and

where my fingers ran

The scars filled with gold

and ink like a g-pen freshly dipped

Until I was a work of art

and all the darkness that leaked

made others beautiful.
