Lover’s well

Once upon a time

Once upon a day

A year

A month

It happened this way

A shy fellow

And a bashful lady

Join in embrace

Poorly clad

In secret they meet

On eternity’s time

Courtly they gather

In a forest grown dark

At the well,

It’s heart

Sipping mortality

Age took hold

Lady was married

One fateful day

Mournful wedding bells

Fellow was not told

In the forested abyss

He waited alone

But lady…

She could not go

He wept

And mourned

Bewildered

"Why?"

She longed

And sighed

Prisioned in her mind

Neither knew

What the other’d become

Till one day

From her tower

The foundations crumbled

For lady so high

To the well she went

Finding lad poorly kept

They promised

Never to be severed again

Hand in hand

Two stood on edge

Inside the lovers well

They submerged their breath
