Challenge of the Week CCI
You made the cut and are safely on Mars in your domicile, week 1, staring at the red landscape. On Earth, the certainty of Doomsday made you feel lucky to make the draw, yet Earth is still there. You can’t return home. What's ahead of you? Fiction or non-fiction, poetry or Prose.

An alien’s mistake

An alien is here.

Beware!

It will kill you; run;

don’t stare.

Run! dont be shot,

by its plasma gun,

Green gooey carcass

isn’t the end!

With no blood, no veins,

in the form enormous,

just a wee mind, crass;

you will be lost in horizon.

The blood in your soil

can’t go red any more.

As the Alien treads,

it’s turning it sore.

The Alien’s come to you

from the planet blue;

a mistake-

‘to err is human,’

they say

It wasn’t meant to be here,

with the species down there;

this Alien from planet Earth,

won’t last your cold winter.

A sensitive mind, in days ten,

it will suffer guilt and pain,

then die, it will,

it’s death all alone.
