The car at the stop sign didn't stop. Didn't notice me until I could have touched it. I didn't flinch or jump, neither did the driver. It was slick out, rain had been coming down for weeks it felt like. Neither one of us were paying any attention to anything else, like everyone else. Head down, hoods up, umbrellas out. I sloshed through the puddles, no plan on where I would be going, just going. One foot. Two foot. Red foot. Blue foot.
