You

I sit by the window

Looking out and hoping

A voice inside me whispering

Can I trust it?

The phone rang

I picked it up with much anticipation

It was Mum

Terribly shrouded in disappointment.

Your voice, your touch, your scent

I could feel the familiar warmth

Goosebumps all around

I never want it to end.

Coffee and me

Was all you needed, you said

I believed you.

Was I being naive?

Wait! Is that you?

Walking down the path

That confident gait

That sexy smile......

And when I looked again, you were gone.
